ABOUT | a few words about Alex Popescu

I work in the visual effects industry specializing in film and television work. I concentrate on digital set creation, from environment design and concept art, set extensions and 2D matte paintings to full 3d matte painted environments. I also enjoy doing compositing work.

When given the chance of doing concept design or art direction for a project, I am passionate about creating a product satisfying all the people involved. I pursue quality work trying to keep a high standard throughout the process.

I think of myself as a visual effects artist, always trying to expand my skill set. Although I graduated the University of Computer Science of Bucharest, with a specialization in computer graphics and artificial intelligence, in my professional career I chose to combine my passion for arts and technical skills. Making a shot work , from concept art, to finding a solution for the 3d matte painting setup and providing the layers for compositing is very rewarding.
